I'm Donna Howard, 5th grade teacher for Language Arts and U.S. History. The greatest privilege in being at GRACE is that I can pray with my students whenever a need arises. I love the challenge that comes in 5th grade as students transition between the elementary and middle school years. Our students practice good academic habits, are motivated to learn, and still appreciate the joys of childhood. My favorite sound in the classroom is the "ooohhhh" that comes when a child finally grasps a concept. In our US History studies, we watch history happening every day, and we understand the origins of many issues. When not in my classroom, I love being with my husband and our daughters. Joining us at home are our cats Gracie, Lucy, and Martin Luther.  My favorite place is Ocracoke Island; my favorite color is red; my favorite activity is reading. My academic and educational training came from Peace College and North Carolina State University; my practical training came from parenting our son and daughters.  My greatest hope for all of my students is that we meet one day around the throne of our Lord Jesus Christ.
