I’ve had the pleasure of teaching upper school math (6th grade math through AP Calculus, but not all at the same time!) here at Grace since 2002. I have an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech (go Hokies!) and a Master’s degree in Applied Math from Johns Hopkins University. I worked as an engineer and software analyst in a corporate setting for over 10 years before finding a calling in teaching. I have two sons who attend GRACE – an 8th grader and a 5th grader. My husband and I are very active in a small, growing and spiritually vital church.
One of the things I enjoy most about GRACE, both as a teacher and a parent, is a rigorous curriculum that also has an emphasis on hands-on, project-based learning that gets students really involved with the material they are studying. I am also most grateful to work in a setting where students can get their aim and focus on Christ while also learning what they need to go on to college and their careers.
