Elementary PE
My name is Carl Brienzi (Bree – en – zee), but kids have always called me ‘Coach B’. I was originally born in Rochester, NY, but have been in NC since 1996. North Carolina has been a huge blessing. I loved ECU, where I met some of the most amazing friends. Most importantly though, while teaching at a previous school I met my wife Gena', who is from Morganton, NC.
People often do a double take with me when they hear that I teach elementary P.E. I often get referred to the middle or high school. Let me tell you, I am exactly where God wants me. Teaching K – 5 fits my shape perfectly. I have worked with every age group over the past 20 years. While working at East Wake Academy I taught K-12. It was a great opportunity to see which age group worked best with my shape. I love playing sports and games with the 5th graders while they develop teamwork and sportsmanship. It is equally amazing to see the kindergarteners discover how to tumble or jump rope for the first time. There is nothing quite like it.
I love teaching at GRACE. I have always loved the friendships that come with teaching P.E. I still talk to students and parents from years ago. The GRACE family has been so amazing already, I can only imagine how much fun it will be going forward. Please stop me and introduce yourself anytime :)
