Contact Information

My name is Cherri Durig and I teach 5^th Grade Bible, Reading, and Spelling. This is my fourth year at GRACE. I truly love teaching children and feel that GRACE is my second home.

My husband, Tom, and I have three children and live in Holly Springs. Christi is a sophomore at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. She is planning to go into missions when she graduates. Zach is a junior at GRACE. He loves cross country and basketball. Katelyn is in the 7^th grade at GRACE and loves basketball and Irish Dance. We also have a dog named Domino.

It is very exciting to have the opportunity to teach Bible. In 5^th grade, we study Old Testament men and women. I enjoy bringing the Bible to life for my students through storytelling, drawing, games, and using our new SMART Boards. Spelling is a critical literacy skill that strengthens reading and writing and develops a stronger vocabulary. Being a strong reader is essential for comprehending text of any kind. Strategies will be taught to help students achieve better comprehension in all subject matters. Students will read a variety of novels throughout the school year that enhance our history program.
