I teach a variety of courses at the high school level at GRACE. The greatest privilege in being at GRACE is that I can pray with my students whenever a need arises.
For the past six years, I've loved the challenges as a teacher for 5th grade students transitioning between the elementary and middle school years. I helped our students practice good academic habits, increased their motivated to learn, and allowed appreciation for the joys of childhood. I welcome the return to secondary education and love the new challenges presented in 9th grade World Geography and Ancient History, 10th grade World Literature, College Writing as well as in elective courses Public Speaking and Journalism. For each course, my goal is for students to understand and accept the privilege, value, and responsibility in learning.
When not in my classroom, I love being with my husband and our children. Joining us at home are our cats Gracie, Lucy, and Mozzie and a variety of fish. My favorite place is Ocracoke Island; my favorite color is red; my favorite activities are reading, puttering in my yard, or visiting with friends on my back porch. My academic and educational training came from Peace College and North Carolina State University; my practical training came from parenting our son and daughters.
My greatest hope for all of my students, past, present, and future, is that we meet one day around the throne of our Lord Jesus Christ.
