Huntley, Mary Claudia
1st Grade Teacher
My name is Mary-Claudia Huntley and I am teaching First grade here at GRACE. I am a native North Carolinian and graduated from Meredith College with a B.A. in Religion and Elementary Education. I am starting my second year of teaching at GRACE, but this is my 9th year as a parent. I am so excited about teaching, especially First grade! I have been married to my husband for 22 years and we have two boys. One is in 10th grade and the other in 7th. Both play sports here at GRACE. When I am not teaching, I love to attend the boy's athletic events. Baseball is actually my favorite! I also enjoy our beloved dog, Maggie. Most of the time you can find me reading or singing. Our family loves to travel. We love the beach, Blowing Rock, N.C., and our new love- cruising! We went on our first cruise this summer and loved it!
Teaching in a Christian school is a work of the heart. My heart is with Jesus and serving Him. I pray that all of my students will grow in Him this year. I see in teaching young children that everyday moments can be teaching moments about God. That is a priviledge and a joy.
