Irish Dance
The GRACE Christian Irish Dance Troupe is led by Mrs. Lisa Clark, a certified Irish Dance Instructor with the Commission of Ireland (T.C.R.G.). Lisa is a past Irish dance competitor herself and she loves to share the joy of Irish dancing with all her dancers. The Dance troupe is 8 years strong! It started out as 7 dancers and is now capped at 30 dancers with yearly try-outs to make the Troupe.
The dancers are best known for their yearly award winning dance drama production that is held every Spring. The 2010 production was "Enduring Love", an Irish Love story. It got rave reviews! In 2011 the story was "Divine Love Revealed; The Story of St. Patrick" performed at Cary Academy. The 2012 show incorporates GRACE's Vocal Ensemble and Band in a show titles "The Sounds of the Irish."
When the dancers are not preparing for their big productions, they are busy performing their routines for local nursing homes, malls, parades, cultural festivals, and Irish restaurants. Some of the GRACE dancers are also involved with the Rince na h'Eireann school of Irish dance (www.rincenaheireann.com), where Lisa also teaches, and are involved in competitions up and down the east coast. For those who don't quite make the troupe or are too young, Lisa offers after school Irish dance lessons for any GRACE student who is interested in learing Irish dance.
