Bonjour! My name is Pascale Rivard Fitts. I was born and raised in Québec, Canada. I am a native French speaker. My family moved to the United States (Alabama) when I was 12 years old. I'm very proud of my heritage and enjoy sharing it with others. It is my pleasure to return to GRACE for my fifth school year to teach middle and high school French. I also have the honor of being the faculty advisor for GRACE's 7th-12th grade Student Council. It is truly a pleasure to be a part of the GRACE community, both as a parent and a faculty member.

My husband and I just celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary. We met through the youth ministry called Young Life. We both came to know Christ through Young Life in High School, and worked as volunteers after graduation. I graduated from Auburn University where I pursued a double major in Spanish and Communications, as well as a double minor in French and Business. My husband went to the University of Alabama, but we still managed to fall in love and marry! Out of our interestingly diverse marriage came 2 wonderful children: Maureen (8th grade) and Jeremie (6th grade). We have lived in the Triangle area for 13 years. We are involved in the community through sports, the arts, as well as our church. We are currently part of a church plant in Morrisville.

I choose the same verse every year, because it truly speaks to me in every area of my life. Luke 1:45 says this: "Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished". The ability to teach in a Christian school is a gift I treasure. It is my pleasure to work with young men and women and share my faith with them. I love watching them grow in their walk with Christ and see them develop into amazing young adults. It is indeed a privilege.

I am excited about the direction the foreign language department is taking. Thanks to the E4 initiative, our schedule now allows us to start offering classes in 8th grade. With AP in sight, we are committed to preparing our students for that goal. This new program will enable students to recieve 5 consecutive years of foreign language instruction. It's the beginning of an incredible new journey!
