Who am I? On a fundamental level, I am a Christian, a father, a husband, a teacher, a runner, a coach and an explorer. On a more detailed level, I was born in Canada and went to school and was raised on Long Island, NY. I went to Duke University where I was a swimmer and team captain and received a degree in Economics with a minor in History. I then went to law school at Washington University and practiced law for fourteen (14) years. I have been married for 18 years to Dr. Lisa Grana and I have two beautiful daughters, Katarina and Alexa, who are in 10th grade and 7th grade respectively at GRACE Christian. Prior to moving to Cary, I was an Elder in my church in Salisbury and principally worked with the youth of my church. In particular, and one of the things I am most proud about beyond my family, is my mission work with the youth of my old church. Every summer for eight years, the youth and several adult advisors went on a mission trip to Mexico in the summer to build homes. These mission trips have shown me the importance and reward of working with the youth and have led me closer to God. Approximately four years ago, after much prayer and soul searching, I decided to pursue a career in teaching which I believe is God's calling for me. I love Social Studies. My favorite areas of Social Studies are Civil War history, modern Mexico history, English history and Civics. I am very excited to be teaching at GRACE Christian and I am looking forward to a great year.
