Athletics
Welcome to the GRACE Athletics page. Here at GRACE, we currently field twenty one athletic teams at the varsity and middle school levels that serve to enhance our student body's educational and extracurricular experience. One of our primary goals is to provide an atmosphere where the student-athlete’s abilities can be developed and enhanced. We seek to challenge our athletes, through mentoring and discipleship, to develop character traits and life skills that will provide a solid foundation for the rest of his or her life.
During the fall, GRACE offers boys’ soccer, volleyball, girls’ tennis, and cross country. Throughout the winter season, we offer basketball and cheerleading and varsity swim. Girls’ soccer, baseball, boys’ tennis, softball, track & field and varsity golf are offered in the spring. We are currently considering the addition of football for either the fall of 2012 or 2013.
At the high school level, GRACE is a provisional member of the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association. We have entered in this, our first year, as a AA school. We are in our second year as a full member of the Carolina Christian Conference, an eight member league, which has schools ranging from Henderson to Fayetteville to Goldsboro. Our middle school teams compete in the Triangle Middle School Conference as a Division I member. All schools in this division are found within a forty minute drive of GRACE and include schools such as Cary Christian, Cary Academy, and St. David's.
In the past two years, GRACE has experienced great success on the field and on the court. During the 2009-2010 school year, championships were won by middle school boys soccer, varsity girls basketball, and boys tennis. The 2010-2011 GRACE athletic season saw championships in varsity boys soccer, varsity volleyball, middle school volleyball, varsity girls tennis, boys and girls varsity basketball, boys jv basketball and varsity cross country. For the first time in school history, we were able to compete at the state tournament level in volleyball, girls tennis, cross country, boys tennis and girls basketball.
