Vivian Edwards Retires

On January 31st, GRACE will say farewell to Vivian Edwards.Vivian has been a part of the GRACE community in some fashion since 1989!  After her triplet boys were born in 1989, her daughter, Michelle, began preschool at GRACE’s precursor, Mount Olivet Christian School. Vivian began working as GRACE Christian School’s bookkeeper at the beginning of the 1997-1998 school year when Michelle was in 7th grade and her boys, Andrew, David, and Chris were in the 3rd grade.

Over the years, Vivian has seen and been a part of much change at GRACE. She watched as we went from Mt. Olivet Christian School to GRACE Christian School in 1995. She has seen our enrollment go from roughly 200 students when she started working here, to now over 770. She still remembers participating in writing scripture on the floors, walls, and beams as they dedicated the 801 Buck Jones Road building (Lower Campus) to the Lord. In 2003, she watched as her daughter, Michelle walked across the stage as part of GRACE’s very first high school graduating class. She watched as God continued to roll out the blessings as we partnered with Hope to purchase the Upper Campus.  For many, many years Vivian was THE finance department for GRACE. She has worked tireless hours over the years paying bills, managing the bank balance, keeping us on budget and paying our employees on time!

Vivian is looking forward to having more time with her family – which now includes three grandsons.  Her husband, Allan, recently told her that they would be globetrotters once she retired! Vivian’s favorite verses are Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart  and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him,  and he will make your paths straight.”  She has lived by these verses trusting God to direct her at all times.

Please join me in thanking Vivian for her years of service at GRACE, and congratulating her as she trusts the Lord to continue directing her path.
