Library & Media Resources

MISSION – The goal of the GRACE Media Center is to encourage a love of books and reading in our children and to teach them information literacy skills. Our library makes its resources available to the GRACE students, faculty and staff during the school day. We also have online resource tools that can be accessed 24/7 using an Internet connection.

LIBRARY Hours

Raleigh Library (TK-6th graders) is open Monday-Friday 8:15 am to 2:50 pm

Students are welcome to check out books or take AR quizzes during the times indicated below. For keyboarding/online research help in the afternoon, contact Mrs. Gehringer via Talon or email (CGehringer@GRACEChristian.net)

  • Monday & Thursday – 7:45-8:15am
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday – by appointment (send message to Mrs. Gehringer)

Students in Kindergarten through 5th grade have weekly library periods, during which they can check out library materials. Our Transitional Kindergarten class will come to the library biweekly for a story time. Students in 6th grade come with their classes, when scheduled by the faculty, or on their own during the times when TK-5 library classes are not scheduled.

LIBRARY STAFF

Mrs. Carol Gehringer, Head Librarian, Raleigh & Crossroads Campus: Mrs. Gehringer co-teaches with Mrs. Harsfield (our technology teacher) the 3rd-5th grade media classes, as well as specific classes for our 6th graders  on research skills, digital literacy, and basic computer science (coding). She also facilitates the 4th-6th grade book clubs.

Mr. Daniel O’Brien, Media Specialist, Crossroads Campus: Mr. O’Brien is the media specialist on the Crossroads campus, working with our 7th-12th grade students and faculty. Mr. O’Brien facilitates the 7-12 grade book clubs, and teaches research skills and digital literacy.

Mrs. Susan Walker, TK-3 Library Teacher, Raleigh Campus: Mrs. Walker conducts TK-3 library classes where library media terms and skills are taught, a love and appreciation for books is developed, and GRACE students grow to independent and confident use of the library.   Mrs. Walker leads the 3rd Grade Book Clubs where reading and activities make for a fun, learning experience.
