Spread a Little Christmas Cheer - Sponsor a Teacher/Staff Member

Thanks to COVID-19 regulations, our annual Teacher Cookie Jingle Mingle is being modified but it will be just as fun! Please join PTF in sponsoring a teacher or staff member for some extra Christmas Cheer. We would love for you to bring your best creativity to your adopted person the week of December 7th. Please stay around the $20-25 gift amount. It can include a gift card to their favorite store/restaurant and a special treat, something from their wish list or something that you create totally special for them! Use your Christmas Cheer thinking caps and make these teachers and staff feel all the LOVE you have for them and the gratitude for all they do for our GRACE students. Sign up for a teacher or staff member using this link.

Parenting in the Age of COVID

NCAIS is offering a free parent education event on December 14th at 7:30 p.m. As COVID numbers on are the rise, parents are struggling with balancing social distancing recommendations with the emotional and mental wellbeing of their children. This presentation by Elise Howell, MA, LCMHC, a mental health counselor at Southeast Psychological in Charlotte, will address the trends and changes in mental health and parenting during the age of COVID. Strategies for building resilience, hope and maintaining perspective in uncertain times will be shared.

Pre-registration is required and can be found on the NCAIS website under Professional Development or by clicking HERE.

Holiday Virtual Learning Registration

Registration for December virtual learning registration is now open. Please complete the form at this link in order to register. Additionally, our leadership team has heard from a few families who are considering having their children take advantage of virtual learning the weeks of November 30 through December 4 and/or January 6 through 8 in order to provide a little bit more of a buffer time between holiday travel and a return to campus. For our teachers, it helps us to have this information in advance, so if your family is considering this approach for your children, please complete the form at this link

Enrollment is Now Open!

If you have not already completed your re-enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year, don't wait! Enrollment is now open to the general public. Due to capacity enrollment and lengthy wait pools this school year, it is imperative that our current families re-enroll as early as possible to secure an enrollment seat for the 2021-2022 school year. Have any questions? Contact our Director of Admission, Mrs. Katie Fowler Day, at [email protected]

Donuts for Dad

We will be holding our next virtual Donuts for Dads this Friday, December 4th from 7:30 – 8:00 a.m. This week’s presenter is going to be Devin Terris, GRACE’s Director of Athletics. Come hear what God has laid on Devin’s heart to share with the group.

If you are not able to attend and have any prayer requests that you would like to share with the group, please email Greg Robinson at [email protected] prior to Friday.

Biblical Worldview Integration

A few weeks ago, Head of School Eric Bradley sent an email to all GRACE teachers requesting they share an example of how they integrated a biblical worldview into their lessons that week. We thought our GRACE community would enjoy reading some of their responses. We plan to share a few responses a week over the next several weeks.

"We were talking about Ancient Egypt in 9th-grade History. We discussed how Egypt is mentioned in 29 different Old Testament books and by growing in our understanding of Ancient Egypt we were growing in our ability to understand the Old Testament. We also later highlighted Ancient Egyptian Religion and discussed how some of the 10 plagues in Exodus showed God’s power over specific Egyptian deities. " - Nathan Dewey, Upper Campus History and Bible Teacher

"Today while working with a student who was saying somewhat unkind words to another student, I used this as an opportunity to explain how we should treat others like we want to be treated. That we should love one another and that being kind and considerate is part of loving one another." - Deb Weingart, LEAP

"In 8th-grade health, we started talking about 8 different body systems. As we discussed the circulatory system and the different blood vessels we talked about the intricate design and detail that God put into our creation. Psalm 139 is my favorite passage in the Bible, I love being able to discuss that passage of Scripture in this lesson. We talked about how we are "fearfully & wonderfully made." - Wendy Warlick, Upper Campus Health Teacher
