Renee Drumgo is a native of Dinwiddie, Va., but grew up spending time in Raleigh where her father was born and raised. She attended North Carolina A&T State University (NCAT) in Greensboro, N.C. where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering and a master’s degree in architectural engineering with a focus on mechanical systems and energy. Renee also has a MBA from Christian Brothers University (CBU) in Memphis, Tenn.

Renee currently works as an energy engineer. Although her customers cover many vertical markets, Renee’s passion is with smaller, rural K-12 customers with limited budgets and resources. Renee works to identify ways for her customers to save energy, which allows them to reallocate money from their utility budget to address many of their capital improvement needs such as improved mechanical systems, controls, healthy buildings initiatives, etc. Renee believes all students deserve the right to attend school in a safe and healthy environment that is conducive to learning and operating at their highest potential.

Along with her full time job, Renee is the owner of Royal Hues Designs. Her company is dedicated to creating products with images that positively depicts and encourages African American children. The company’s tagline is about creating “Products that Inspire Through Positive Representation”.

Renee and her husband, Tari, live in Apex where they are raising their five children - Sienna (who currently attends GRACE), Gavin, Evan, Bryson and Skye. Their family attends Hatcher Grove Baptist Church where Tari is a minister and Renee serves on the Food Ministry. The Drumgo family has been a part of the GRACE community for eight years. Renee has volunteered in many roles throughout the years. These have included her previous roles as PTF Vice President and PTF President. Renee is honored and excited to use her time and talents to serve on the GRACE Christian School Board of Trustees.

Nick MurphyNick and his family joined the GRACE Christian School community in 2015 when their children first enrolled. Over the years, he has contributed to the school in various capacities, including serving on the finance committee, as an assistant track and field coach, and volunteering as a PA announcer at football games. His wife, Dru, played a vital role in the school as the former Transitional Kindergarten teacher for five years, an aspect that Nick feels gives him a unique and insightful perspective as a board member.

Nick graduated from Campbell University with a BBA and an MBA, then later earned an executive certificate in certified financial planning from Duke University. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, Nick has dedicated his professional career to helping individuals make wise, purposeful decisions with their wealth. He began his journey as a Financial Advisor in 2002 and in 2021 founded Counterweight Private Wealth, a wealth management firm specializing in retirement planning, tax planning, and investment management.

On the personal side, Nick and his family are longtime members of Cross Assembly in Raleigh, where they have served in many capacities throughout their tenure. In addition, Nick is a passionate supporter of the Raleigh Dream Center, a local Christian non-profit providing residential and community outreach programs to homeless, abused, and impoverished families in the Triangle. His service on their board since 2018 is another expression of his belief that faith should be lived in tangible ways—by serving others and spreading the hope of the Gospel.

Yet, any academic, professional, or personal accolade falls entirely short of his greatest role, that of a husband and a father. For Nick, being a husband to Dru and a father to Carter, Landon, and Ansley is not just a responsibility; it's a calling rooted deeply in his identity as a follower of Christ. He believes that his family is his first ministry, and that no amount of professional success can compare to the importance of leading his family with love, integrity, and faith. He’s quick to admit that he doesn’t always get it right and relies on God’s grace every day.
