Worship Dance

Students will learn to express praise to The Lord through the art of dance. Praise dance (also known as liturgical or worship dance) is a form of worship that seeks to express the word and spirit of God through dance. The class is structured with choreographed dances. The class will provide basic dance technique, focus on the fundamentals of ballet, barre work, adagio, some jazz and cultivate strength and self- discipline. Opportunities will exist to perform at several GRACE functions and parades. This class is open to students with or without formal dance training. Psalm 149:3 Let them praise His name with dancing.

Choreography is defined as the art of composing ballets and other dances, arranging the movements, designing each sequence of movement, composition, plan and arranging the movements and patterns for the dances. This is not as easy as it sounds. This class is for students with some dance training. We will work on technique and then compose several dances together. We will work on different genres of dance. All the dances from this class will be choreographed and performed by the students.
