GRACE middle and high school visual arts students have been hand painting unique one-of-a-kind bowls for our 6th Annual Empty Bowls event on Friday, March 9th, at 6:00 p.m. This event coincides with the March Madness 4 Missions event in the Lower Campus Gym.

All proceeds will be donated to Rise Against Hunger. For a $10 donation, you may select and keep a unique one-of-a-kind bowl hand-painted bowl and a voucher for a bowl of soup to eat. This year we will be offering 2 donation options: $5 for only soup or $10 for a bowl including soup.

We hope to see you there for a fun and yummy evening raising money for our missions!

Celebrate GRACE 2018 is March 2nd

Celebrate GRACE is a once-a-year opportunity to fellowship with the GRACE community in a special way. This free event is a chance to spend an evening enjoying a fabulous dinner with old friends, make new friends, and be entertained and inspired by professional comedian and keynote speaker, Kenn Kington. Due to space limitations, this is an adults-only event.

Kenn is one of the most popular comics on XM radio and performs regularly across the country. Kenn has spoken to hundreds of companies inspiring focus in the midst of change, maximizing productivity, and developing record-breaking product launches. Kenn has written two bestselling books on relationships and records a regular radio show/podcast that inspires thousands to experience life to the fullest. When you hear Kenn, rest assured you will be entertained, encouraged, challenged and inspired. Watch this Video of Kenn to see what a treat this night will be and make plans to attend!

Gather your friends and make plans to spend the evening enjoying great fellowship, delicious food, and celebrating all that makes our school great. You can reserve your seat or a table for eight and fill it with your favorite members of the GRACE community via our online Celebrate GRACE RSVP Form.

2018 Play4Kay (Hoops for Hope)

GRACE Christian School is proud of our long-standing association with the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and are honored to be part of the Play4Kay network.  It is our privilege to host our 9th annual Hoops for Hope event to honor those in the GRACE community touched by cancer and to raise funds for this worthy organization. Our goal is to surpass the $60,000 mark for our cumulative event total.

This year’s Hoops for Hope event is scheduled for Friday, January 26, 2018, and will include three basketball games (JV Boys/4:00pm, Varsity Girls/5:30pm, and Varsity Boys/7:00pm) as well as a bake sale and a special tribute to our GRACE cancer survivors.

We are thankful to the many local businesses that have partnered with us for our 2018 event. Thanks to their generous support, tickets purchased on or before January 7, 2018 will receive a complimentary event t-shirt and all players will receive pink shoelaces to wear that night. Thank you to our GRACE Business Partners and Play4Kay event sponsors for their support of this event:

100% of sales from admissions, event-night games and the bake sale will be donated to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. We encourage you to attend this special event with a grateful heart and a generous spirit. If you cannot attend on January 26th, you can still support this event by making a donation in honor of someone you know who has been affected by cancer on our Hoops for Hope / Play4Kay Fundraising Web Page.

Annual Fund Thank You

Dear GRACE Families,

Thank you for the tremendous show of support for our 2017-2018 Annual Fund Campaign. While the Annual Fund has been in existence for some time, this was our first attempt to create support through this type of campaign — one that featured no mailing of donation cards or solicitation via a student activity such as running laps. This year, our approach was simply to ask you to support the Annual Fund because of your commitment to the mission and vision of our school. Each day of the 10-day campaign, we highlighted an aspect of the GRACE community that benefits from your support of the Annual Fund and helps make our school special, including the Christian foundation, wonderful educational environment, and incredible staff. So in addition to providing financial support of our Annual Fund goals, we hope that our 10-day campaign was also a reminder of God’s blessings on our community.

I am delighted to report that our 10-day campaign surpassed our fundraising goal. As a replacement mechanism to Boosterthon, we knew that we wanted to equal or surpass the level of fundraising that event generated. Just over 50% of our GRACE families participated and made an average donation of $103. As of today, the 2017-2018 campaign has generated over $27,000 for us to use during this school year. In addition to raising money now, many of you indicated your intentions to donate at year-end or to donate at the 2018 Celebrate GRACE event. For those of you who would still like to participate in the campaign donations can be made via this link on the GRACE website. Thank you for your generosity.

As a result of this month’s giving, we can move ahead on the following projects:

  • Renovation of the lower campus library;
  • Renovation of the upper campus lobby;
  • Replacing the lower campus flooring in the hallways; and
  • Enhancing the upper campus computer lab.

Going forward, our goal is to increase the percentage of our families participating in this event as strong community involvement in fundraising signals to outside organizations that we have a community that is supportive of our leadership, our mission, and our future.  This, in turn, allows us to apply for funding in the form of grants and other educational helps.

Thank you for your generous support of GRACE. So much of what we accomplish is a result of the support of our community as you partner with us in equipping your students for life.
