Celebrate GRACE 2019 Recap

Thank you to everyone who attended the March 29th Celebrate GRACE Fundraising dinner. We had a wonderful evening of fellowship and were reminded by the staff, student and parent speakers about what a special place GRACE is.

Thank you to the GRACE Stream Team for recording this event capturing the heartfelt testimony of each of our speakers.

As of April 1st, the combined giving from Celebrate GRACE, the October Annual Fund Drive, and year-end gifts has allowed us to reach 78% of our 2018-2019 annual fund goal of $300,000.  If you can help us reach 100% we encourage you to use this Online Donation Link and make your contribution.

Thank you to GRACE student Emily Hodges for capturing so much fun at the Celebrate GRACE Photo Booth.

2019 Play4Kay

What Is Play4Kay?

Uniting players, coaches, and fans to do something for the greater good that far exceeds wins and losses on the court, the Play4Kay initiative is the largest fundraiser of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and plays a major role in their success.

The “pink phenomenon” in women’s basketball began during the 2004-2005 basketball season, when Coach Yow’s cancer recurred after being in remission for 17 years. Play4Kay is the grassroots fundraising initiative of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. It was originally called Think Pink, later Pink Zone, and most recently and finally, Play4Kay.Women’s basketball teams wore pink in honor of Coach Yow and those battling cancer. In 2007, this movement resulted in the establishment of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and its Play4Kay initiative.

For the past nine years, numerous sports, groups, and organizations have hosted Play4Kay fundraisers that resonated with their fans and the community, all while raising funds for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Play4Kay events allow members of the basketball community to play a part in the Kay Yow Cancer Fund simply by doing something they love, playing ball. Coach Yow wouldn’t have it any other way.

GRACE Christian School and Play4Kay

GRACE Christian School has been part of the Play4Kay program since it’s inception, using the name “Hoops 4 Hope” for many years and it has become a tradition at our school. Representatives of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund use GRACE as a model for how high schools can become a part of this initiative. If you have never been to a Play4Kay event at GRACE, plan to attend on January 25th and see the GRACE community doing what it does best: loving others well and serving those around us.

Every minute, one woman is diagnosed with cancer. One mother. One daughter. One wife. Help us raise money in support of scientific research and programs that serve the under-served by support this year’s Play4Kay event. Tickets for all attendees are $10. Note: Eagles Club Passes are not accepted for this game.
