The GRACE Chapel program provides an atmosphere of belonging and community that allows students to be challenged and inspired to grow closer to Christ.
Lower Campus: Grades TK-6
The weekly chapel program is organized by the Director of Christian Life and the campus principal with contributions by every classroom during the year. Chapel is divided by age group with a TK-2nd grade chapel, a 3rd-5th grade chapel, and a 6th grade chapel.
6th Grade Retreat: The 6th grade retreat provides new middle schoolers a time to bond with classmates and reflect on their personal relationships with Christ. The intention is to break away from the routine of school early enough in the year that friendships may form or strengthen outside of the classroom. Activities include team building games as well as other fun camp entertainment. More importantly, however, is the emphasis on a personal relationship with Christ. As students grow during middle school, their desire to question and contemplate ideas increases. They often begin to ask questions and seek information about spiritual matters from classmates, teachers, and adult mentors. The retreat allows an atmosphere where students hear the Truth of the Gospel, that we are all sinners in need of a Savior. Speakers deliver sessions which challenge students to consider what they personally believe about the God. Small groups led by teachers and/or high school mentors are conducted as a safe environment to get answers to questions they may have.
Upper Campus: Grades 7-12
Our weekly chapel program is organized by our Director of Christian Life and high school student chaplain and their team of chapel elective students. Local pastors/missionaries/teachers come and share during chapel and relate scripture back to our yearly theme. The 2017-2018 theme is “Walk Worthy”. Our chapel elective students evaluate, pray, and organize the details of weekly chapels. We also have several special annual chapels:
- State of GRACE led by student council
- Fine Arts Chapel that showcases the gifts and talents of our performing groups
- Public Speaking Chapel in which students headed to the ACSI share their prepared work with their peers
- Operation Christmas Child chapel where students in grades TK-12 gather together to dedicate our shoeboxes to the Lord’s service
