Weekly Updates...

Homecoming 2022 - That's a Wrap!

Thank you to all our staff and volunteers who made Homecoming 2022 such a success! From the parade and pep rally (please tell me your student told you all about the epic teacher lip sync battle) to the tailgate, game and dance - we had an incredible turnout from our GCS community! Thank you, Ritter Orthodontics, for sponsoring this year's event!

Grandparents Day: October 28th!

Make sure mimi, papa, nana and gramps have Grandparents Day on the calendar. We are so excited to be able to have our grandparents back on campus this year for a special performance by our students, as well as time to visit their grandchildren's classrooms. Also, that Friday is a half-day. We hope grandparents will be able to take advantage of the early release day to spend more time together as a family.

Free Sports Nutrition Session

GRACE Athletics Department is hosting a free virtual Sports Nutrition session hosted by Meredith Magnini MS, RDN, LD with Wholehearted Nutrition & Wellness LLC. While this event is designed for our 6th-12 grade athletes and their families, all GCS families are welcome to participate.

Sports nutrition is the foundation of athletic success as it supports the body for optimal performance in the sport and in day-to-day functioning. This session with a Registered Dietitian will review the basics of nutrition and the nutrients needed for fuel. Sports nutrition, as with all nutrition, is specific to the individual and their sport/goals. Working with a Dietitian will help an athlete understand how to fuel their body appropriately for performance and also rest days.

We not only want to make strides in athletics mentally and spiritually but also physically. One of those main areas is educating all involved with athletics (coaches, parents, and student-athletes) on how to take care of our bodies before, during, and after athletic seasons.
Please join us tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 12th, to hear Meredith give us some great information!

Lost and Found - Last Call

Are you missing anything? We have lost items…water bottles, lunchboxes, PE clothes, sports bags, hoodies. If you can’t find an item please send your student to look for it. All items will be donated on October 17. Reminder to please label the inside of bags, boxes, PE clothes and coats with a Sharpie and we will do the best to get them back to you. Upper Campus students can check with Mrs. Cindilee Thorne and Lower Campus students can check with Mrs. Christina Marrow.

GRACE Gala Planning Meeting

GRACE Christian School is hosting the eighth annual GRACE Gala, a night of entertainment, dinner, and a silent auction event benefitting the GCS Annual Fund this spring. Volunteers are welcome to join the planning committee to help make this event a huge success. You can sign up as a volunteer here.

Also, make plans to join us on Wednesday, October 12 at 8:15 a.m. in the Upper Campus Media Center. If you are interested in helping with the event but cannot attend the meeting, email Michele Bandy at [email protected] with your area of interest. Thank you for considering one of the ways you can support the school by volunteering your time and talents.
